Snowfall.

I'm not sure what is going on with the weather lately, but about a week after Sandy rolled through, we got hit with a nor'easter in our part of the country.  Thankfully, the storm wasn't as powerful as they first predicted for our town.  We only got about two or three inches of snow...it was nothing like what we received last year...phew!

The view when we left work...

Our street during the storm...

And even though it wasn't much, the snow got me thinking about the holidays {aka - Thanksgiving and Christmas...they are "the holidays" in my book}.  I am so super excited for "the holidays" this year because 1) my entire family is coming to our house for Thanksgiving and my mom is going to help me cook my first ever Thanksgiving meal...2) we are finally going to get to meet our niece...and 3) it's the friggin' holidays...need I say more?!?!

Last year we moved in on Christmas Eve, so this is the first year we can properly celebrate in our own home.  We are so thankful for it, and we're so excited for the memories we are about to make.

  1. I'm so glad that you guys were safe through all of the crazy weather.

We haven't had anything too crazy as far as the weather goes here in VA, but it was 70 degrees yesterday and 40 degrees today haha.

  2. I'm glad to hear that you didn't get as much snow as they said. My cousin is in NYC and has had many problems due to Sandy. I love "the holidays" too - it's when we all get together and have fun. We've lost a lot of family members over the past two years so it's nice to be with the ones we still have.

    1. I think I'd love the snow more if I knew that I was 1) stuck inside and didn't have to go anywhere {cough...work...cough} and 2) if I knew power would stay on and we could just snuggle by a fire and watch movies haha.

But yes, I'm SO excited for the holidays too...it's just such a happy time!!

    1. Haha, I don't blame you! Although I like a little blanket of snow around Christmas time. As long as it doesn't impact work/travel/power hahaha.
