Truth be told, I'm hoping this isn't a true "after" for you guys. I dream of installing a gas insert, and maybe a bit more trim. It's already become one of my favorite focal points in our great room, but I know in my heart it can get even better!!
With a little paint and a lot of courage (to tackle my first tiling job), our fireplace went from bleh to beautiful!
Don't forget to check out the intro, part one, two, three and four of our rancher "before and after" series! Next up is our hallway...aka my stenciled labor of love. ;)
I love love LOVE your fireplace! Still remember when you re-tiles the hearth with that gorgeous marble hex! So good!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much, Shannon!! Xo!
DeleteI think matching the color of the brick with the mantle was a good idea. At the very least, it now blends well with the rest of the wall, and does not stick out like a sore thumb. Anyway, I hope to see what else you have planned for your fireplace, and the ranch in general. Good day!

Thanks so much, Alejandra! :)
DeleteWow amazing! Is all I can say!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! :)
DeleteWhat did you use on the black metal screen to make it silver?
ReplyDeleteI used Rustoleum's spray paint.
DeleteYou did an amazing job! Did you use the high heat rustoleum? What color do they call it?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Shawn! No, I didn't use the high heat because we aren't planning to use our wood-burning fireplace. We actually had a gas line run to the box for when we have enough money to have a new unit installed. If you are going to be using the fireplace, definitely go with high heat!!
DeleteYes wondering what color rustoleum you used?
ReplyDeleteI used a silver metallic color...but it was not high heat. We aren't planning on using the fireplace until we have a new gas insert installed (when we save up), so definitely use a high heat paint if you regularly use it! :)
