It all started when I found these adorable little planters at Target. {Yup, the same trip I purchased my door mat for the front porch}. Technically, I think they are votives, but to me, they look like mini-planters.
Now I just needed some plants...and for that, I thought I'd have to go to Home Depot. NOPE. I walked into my local CVS to pick up a prescription after work {shout out to Michelle and all the other pharmacists out there}, and saw they had a bunch of succulents for sale near the entrance. I thought it was meant to be. I picked up four of them, and brought them home.
Of course, several days passed before I actually did anything about planting them. All it took was stealing some rocks from a bamboo plant we had in our bathroom to line the bottom of the
Then I put the plant and some extra soil in...
Boom, done! Plants in the window.
cute!!! i love those little pots- they are SO you!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Cassie! They really are, huh?! :)
DeleteI freaking love target - those "mini-planters" are so cute! I just found a really cute shower curtain there. Glad you joined the succulent party - I hope you have better luck than I do at keeping plants alive ;)
ReplyDeleteMe too, Rebecca! Thank you! I always get my bank account into so much trouble whenever I enter that store. Thanks...I hope I can keep them alive too! :)
DeleteI really need to jump on this succulent bandwagon. They're so cute. Thanks for the pharmacist shout-out. Me and my drug dealing homies thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes, you do! I'm glad I finally did. I mean, all the cool kids are doing it...why shouldn't we?! ;)
DeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove these so much. I've been wanting to put together a large arrangement for ages. One of these days!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! Eventually you'll get around to it...just like I finally did haha. Sometimes it just takes a while. ;)
DeleteJ'adore! I have some succulents to go out and buy. I'm totally doing this. I am so tardy for party on this one too, but I love it! xo Kristin
ReplyDeleteYes, do it! I'm glad we could be tardy to the party together. ;)
DeleteI loooove succulents. I have some in my outdoor gardens but have yet to put some in planters. I'm thinking my patio table needs some and possibly one for inside too. Yours are adorable! I love the ombre look to your planters and the colour is perfect for you!!
ReplyDeleteMe too...I really love the shape and appearance of those plants, and I'm hoping their easy care means I don't kill them with my not-so-green thumb. ;) Thanks so much, Christine!! :)
DeleteThose babies are going to be so happy by the window!!! I especially love the tall spiky one! Pop an ice cube in each one once a week and you should be golden! xo
ReplyDeleteMe too...that one is my favorite! Ohhhhh, that's a fabulous {and easy} tip...thanks so much, Cara!! :)
DeleteCute! I haven't jumped on the succulent wagon yet either, but I want to! They are so adorable!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! They'd look fab on your AMAZING dining room table! ;)
DeleteI love those little pots! Succulents are my favorite, but I can't seem to keep them alive. I know it's supposed to be nearly impossible to kill them, but I can and do often!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Amber! By now, one of them seems to be dying, but the other three are doing just fine! I swear, the key is watering them, ummmmmm, never? Hahaha...I think Cara's ice cube trick from above is great advice!
DeletePretty, I like succulents, I just can't seem to keep them alive :(
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, Kristel! One of mine hasn't lasted through the weeks. It seems to be on it's way out. I'm not sure if it's my black thumb, or the fact that I got them from CVS HA!
DeleteI am so late to the party too! It's on my list of things I want to do.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute Gabbi!
I'm glad I'm not the only one! Thank you, Kelly! :)
DeleteAww they're super cute! Succulents at the drug store? Who knew?!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Right?! Who would have thought?!? :)
DeleteSo cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kimber! :)
DeleteLove them! And succulents are a a non-green-thumb girl's best friend. You can not kill them if you tried!!
ReplyDeleteI hope so...because after a couple weeks, one of the four seems like it might be dying. I don't know if it's because my black thumb of death got to it, or if it's because I bought them from CVS. HA!
DeleteThose pots are definitely "you", and I love little succulents - especially in windows!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, friend! :)
DeleteI am too chicken to re-pot a plant, so I am very impressed by this. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the pots and miniature succulents are both adorable.
ReplyDeleteI bought a succulent on my last trip to IKEA, and I haven't killed it yet. It helps that it requires almost no watering, and I also heard somewhere that they clean more air per plant than other plant varieties.
Aw, thanks so much, Lisa! I'm usually a little intimidated by it too, but I decided to give it a shot.
DeleteOh wow...I never knew that! Thanks for the fun fact! :)
I love them Gabbi!!! Who knew the drugstore carried them hah! Unfortunately, two out of four of mine died and I have no idea why..they only thing I can think of is maybe I overwatered them. :( Yours are so cute in your little pots, so let me know if you keep them alive and what you do!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you, Whitney! I knowww...I was so shocked when I saw them there! Don't feel too bad...one of the four of mine seems to be dying. I don't know what I did since the others seem a-okay. Maybe it's because I got them from the pharmacy hahaha!
DeleteCheck out Cara's ice cube tip from above! It might help us. :)
I swear I'm going to be the last person to have succulents!! I love them and those pots are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way, Crystal! Thank youuuu! :)
DeleteI've had this CVS plant for months now, about time I give it a proper planter. Thanks for the ideas.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI was wondering if you know what the name of the plant you planted with the haworthia is? I have one as well that I also got from cvs, but I am still not able to identify what it is!
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew, but I have no idea!! Sorry I'm no help!
