Chevron Runner.

How is it almost September?!?!  I cannot believe that fall is right around the corner…although I’m not complaining.  Don’t get me wrong.  I L-O-V-E the warm weather that spring and summer bring, but I have a soft spot in my heart for fall.  The crisp air, the beautiful scenery, the cinnamon/apple smells, football and festive times to come just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

And with all those lovely fall feelings, come super cute fall decorations. :)  Soon I’ll be swapping out some of my every day décor for something more autumn inspired.  With that in mind, I figured I should probably show you a DIY runner that has lived on my dresser-turned-console for quite some time now.

As much as I love my console, I always pictured it with a pop of chevron fabric draped over it {note the fabric sample laying on it...ha}.

By the time I got around to ordering the correct yardage of the Annette Tatum Bohemian Chevron Teal fabric, it was sold out.  {#wah}  Then one glorious day I received an email it was back in stock.  I placed my order ASAP and before I knew it, I had a pretty lil’ something to break up all the blue of my console table.

{Please disregard the fact that there is literally nothing on this table.  I haven’t found the right stuff for it yet.  Yes, I’m very aware that I take forever to accessorize things.  My bad, and more on that in another post.}

I really, reallyyyyy wish I was better at taking pictures and used something other than my iPhone to take them.  It would make the color of this console look SO much better than it does here. :(  Oh well!

Anyone else super excited for fall’s arrival this year?!?

  2. I love fall, can't wait for it myself! Great runner.....I can see some lanterns on there so that it doesn't look wonky for either side. Good luck finding something great to
    use!

  5. I CAN'T WAIT FOR FALL!!!! Sorry, that really needed to involve shouty caps to get my point across :). Can't believe it's September like next week! I love, LOVE, love the runner. The pattern is so fun and it looks like the colors really coordinate with the curtains well. I am always afraid i won't know how to mix & match patterns, but you are a pro!

    1. Haha...shout away! I absolutely love the cooler temps that have shown up lately. Fall is starting to arrive!! :)

Thanks so much! But I definitely am not a pro...probably more lucky than anything that my choices work together hehe. ;)

  8. Great touch of chevron without going super crazy! I have yet to do anything chevron except two boxes to help control the clutter of toddler toys. I do like it though!

What if you added some plants around the console? I know many bloggers have mentioned how plants are like the "it" thing lately but I've always loved them (just suck at keeping them alive). I found a neon green ivy at a local green house and it's a great punch of color and fun. I always have trouble decorating tables too... mine are normally attempted and then covered with 3 year old's stuff. The life of a mom...

    1. I love chevron too, but I definitely didn't want to go crazy with it since it can be so bold. I have a couple little bins that are chevron too. I have them in my bedroom armoire to keep my hair stuff together.

Good idea! Plants usually intimidate me haha. And I actually just added two things to the side of my console...I'll have to share soon. :)

  9. So I was reading along, thinking of your runner... and I saw that tiny fabric swatch and thought, "WHAT? That's it??" lol. I thought it was a pretty teeny runner. ("Aren't runners supposed to cover the whole length of the furniture?") Haha. Then I read the caption and looked down - and THERE was the gorgeous runner you actually meant! :) I thought you might enjoy my error. It was funny to me, anyway.

Love the runner (the long one, haha)! It looks great. And don't rush to accessorize. I think simple is beautiful. Love your blog.

    1. Hahaha! Yea, that first piece of fabric would be a pretty embarrassing runner. Too funny!

Thank you so much...that means a lot! :)
