Who am I?
Hi! I’m Gabbi, the blogger and voice behind RRR. I’ve been chronicling our home adventures since we purchased our fixer upper in 2011. (Has it really been that long?!?!) I have a professional, pay-the-bills job during the day, but this blog, and the millions of projects I’ve always got my hands in, allows me to express my truly creative nature. I’m married to my best friend and we have a (very) furry cat who acts like a dog.
Why did I start blogging?
Single, just out of college and starting my first “big girl
job”, I was faced with my parents (aka – best friends) moving 12 hours away and
me needing a home. I decided to buy a 1
bed/1 bath townhouse. It was perfect for
me, and even worked well after my hubby (then boyfriend) moved in with me. But soon after we were married, we (probably I) got the itch to sell. We wanted to find a forever home to raise a
family in and be more centrally-located, closer to work. We embarked on a grueling selling and buying
process…and eventually found our dream neighborhood. It was perfect…well, except for the high home
prices. It was clear we’d need to find a
fixer upper. Once I convinced my hubby to
trust my vision for the green monster, I knew I needed to document the amazing adventure
we were about to embark on. Plus, the
blog would be the perfect tool to share the thrilling ride of renovating
our first home with my too-far-away-family.
Little did I know, as the days, weeks and months stretched
on, I fell in love…in love with anything and everything home, home décor, home
design, remodeling, renovating, DIY’ing and blogging. These things have become passions I just can’t
quit!
What are my other interests?
Besides my amazing family, friends and home….I’m truly a
nerd at heart. I’ve been on a bit of a
health journey (putting it mildly) for quite some time now, and it’s ignited a
fire in me to absorb all-things-health-and-wellness. I love to dance. I rap and sing, all. the. time...even though
my voice is awful. I can watch NCIS (the
original) all day, every day. I’m a sucker for sunny days and a clean
house. If I was rich I’d hire some to do
my hair and cook my dinners every day. I
have no idea how to apply makeup, but I can accessorize an outfit like a boss. Two phrases I heavily rely on in my life are
some form of: “Everything happens for a reason” and “Trust in Him”.
